Jack 
									Hill was the guest speaker for the BEREA’s 
									October 11th meeting.  He said 
									the Georgia Retirement System was the 53rd 
									largest in the world and 24th in 
									the nation. He gave statistic that helped 
									explain how the retirement system is 
									operating in Georgia.  He also said that 
									there has been a gradual improvement in 
									Georgia’s Reserve.  Forecasted in DC still 
									say job, spenders and investors are down, 
									but Georgia tends to be growing at a rate of 
									growth of 5%.  He also talked about the 
									State Health Benefit Plan and taxable 
									income. 
				
				        The 
									BEREA also honored the mayor of Claxton, 
									Luther Royal.  He is very active in the 
									schools and interested in the activities of 
									the young people in Claxton.

										The BEREA is collecting Box Tops for 
										Education, drink tabs, and Campbell’s 
										soup labels.  Please save these and 
										bring them to the meetings.
