Today's guest speaker was Congressman Jack Kingston.   He addressed some of the educational issues that face college students such as having to take remedial courses and taking 5 or more years to finish college.  He stated that congress is working on a bill so that there is more flexibility in education, but the senate tends to sit on the bills. 

Then there was a question and answer session.  Members discussed the problems that teachers were having in the school with so much busy work and stiffling creative teaching by demanding  all teachers (same grade level) teach the same thing on the same day.  Mr. Kingston was very attentive and said that teachers need to find a way express their concerns to people that can help them make a change.
